Hi,
have you a proxy configured in your IE6?
I had a similar problem and found the following solution:
# In Internet Explorer, choose Tools > Internet Options.
# Click the Advanced tab.
# Under HTTP 1.1 settings, check "Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy
connections".

proxy connections in IE6 with http/1.0 are broken for large js-files
(like the google maps api)
