I followed the "Using PHP/MySQL with Google Maps" tutorial by Pamela Fox http://code.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=65622&topic=11369 . To generate the XML, I used "PHP's echo to output XML"
It works!! The XML that is generated is exactly like the XML in the non-PHP/MYSQL version (the link to which is in the next paragraph).
