In plane geometry, yes, but this is not plane geometry, is it? :-)

When drawing a map, we have a 2D representation of a 3D object, so it
is not wrong that the GPolygon object accepts to draw "bow-tie
polygons".
Think about a polygon that goes half way around the world, when
projected from 3D to 2D it can easily look like a bow-tie in a flat
image.
So, as John said, it's up to you to pass the correct data to the
GPolygon object.
