Be prepared, that someone will drop in to teach you, that you are in the wrong board :) Concerning your question: It has nothing to do with the API discussed here, it is a complete different "binary" API, sometimes hard to read and understand. The platform behind may share the resources with the other APIs, Google provides, I don't know, but I suspect that. I have blogged on this for a while here http://foreverneilyoung.blogspot.com. I'm a bit behind the latest developments in my blog, because the information, I provide, is "just for information", any application is non TOS conformant. Hence the number of people being keen to know, what happens with their mobiles, is rather small, so there is not that support, I would need to proceed and spent more time :) Anyway. > If it is some "special mobile api" - are google ever going to release > something so other developers can use a mobile mapping service ? I could imagine, that this will be integrated into Google Gears some when (if it's not already in, I'll check this right now), because it needs to have access to some local resources, like a GPS device or parameters coming out of the cellular and/or WiFi components and stacks. Those information is not possible to gain for a simple javascript, without having some helpers in form of an ActiveX or XPCom or whatever "virus" like component acts on the machine :) Regards > > Thoughts? > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
