Sorry, I should have separated the functionality of GPS transmitter
(that continually transmits the location of it's device) from real
time satellite imagery.

GPS transmitters can been installed on a variety of devices - from
computers to cars -  so that the host can be tracked if it is stolen.

Real-time satellite imagery requires different technology, although,
if one believes what one sees in films, a combination of the two
results in a flashing red dot that tracks the target even into the
bowels of a building. Honestly, we have no privacy nowadays ;-)
