If you mean the Google Maps API read the main documentation pages: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/index.html then look at the examples and tutorials linked to on that page. Creating your own tiles is an advanced concept ( http://econym.org.uk/gmap/custommap.htm ) and should only be attempted when you have gained experience in using the Maps API.
