As I continue my search, "http://www.openstreetmap.org/";
like all map sources I've seen so far, does not have many
smaller Asian cities street-mapped. I understand the economics
of this, but I still want what I want, because of my need.

However, not being familiar with the Cartographic business,
I'm wondering what it takes to "create a new street map"
Other than using drawing film & daylight windows, or even
Adobe Illustrator and Windows, is there any handy little
software available that speeds up the whole process?
