I've read through the API and done a few maps myself but what I haven't seen or read about yet is an ability to put a custom Overlay on the actual Street View. Meaning when you are in street view mode looking at a building or house can you put a custom overlay of an image or "google icon" which is visible in the Street View and will pan and tilt with the images captured from the google vans? Is this possible? where is the code? Any examples?
