I think your file roads.kmz is too big. Unpacked it has about 6 MB.
When a kml file is being zipped, only web space will be saved and a
little download time. The work the kml parser has to do remaains the
same. So you cannot fool the parser by zipping the file. ;-)

I only checked road.kmz. Don't know how big the others are. But when I
try to load your map, only a few of the kmz files will be loaded.

As Ross already noted, show() is not defined.
You have one global variable toggleState used in three functions. So
you never can check which kmz overlay will be displayed.
Is that intended?

And try to remove the redudant </div> behind

<div id="map_canvas" ...></div>
