Thanks for guidance. I used following
GEvent.addListener(map, 'infowindowopen', function()
{ map.savePosition(); });
GEvent.addListener(map, 'infowindowclose', function()
{ map.returnToSavedPosition(); });
Everything is working as I am looking for.
