If you want your infoWindows to be small, you could use EBubble. You need to provide a fixed graphic for the bubble, but that could look similar to Google's infoWindow. Whatever you want to do, if it's outside the API, you *will* need to do some coding, or work with CSS, or provide special graphics, or something.
