This looks just like the links for Lightbox, and I suspect that it
works in a similar way. Lightbox examined every link with
rel="lightbox" and altered them to use the lightbox effect. When a
link is used in an infoWindow, it's not available for the lightbox
script to alter.

I suggested a way of getting Lightbox links to work in February 2007,
and a search for
  lightbox author:warden
should find the thread. Unfortunately there's a bug in the Groups
software at the moment which prevents some posts from being displayed.
Hopefully Pamela has noticed that too and passed it to the Groups Guys
at Google. If I could remember how it worked I'd repeat it here. It
was something about explicitly reproducing what the Lightbox code did
to the links.

Alternatively Esa's suggestion of asking Facebox for a solution of how
to use Facebox when the links cannot be reached using the rel
attribute may be the better option.
