Directions don't work in India. See http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/mapcoverage_filtered.html Apparently Yahoo Maps India does it, so Google is probably not far behind (although they will never say exactly how any future development is coming along). If you use Yahoo data I believe you have to use a Yahoo Map -- check their Terms of Use -- and that API is rather different to Google's.
