Thanks for looking at this! It would be great if you've found a solution. All the KML documents I've made (including one more just now made from scratch) have what seems to be two parts: a lot of <Style></ Style> declarations and then one <Folder></Folder>. The first contains information about a lot of "pushpins," which are referred to by the <styleUrl> tags in my Placemarks. Why, I don't know, because I have only polygons and lines, no "markers" or pushpins in my Placemarks.
The second part (<Folder></Folder>) contains my Placemarks. There is only one <Folder></Folder> declaration, and both the opening and ending tag occur in all the KMLs I've made. <Folder> begins about halfway through each of the KMLs, not at the beginning. So I'm stumped. The opening <Folder> tag isn't missing. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the results are pretty darn consistent! I've tried several times to open my KMLs in your parser, by clicking the URL you've so kindly supplied. Every time I've tried, the page opens and hangs with the small plaque in the center of the map saying "Loading viamarguttastrict3.kml" I've waited about five minutes each on three tries. Maybe this is a busy time of day? Just for fun, I tried to look up my home address from your page and the response was instantaneous and correct. But your page sure seems to not like my KML! Thanks again for your thoughts.
