My service wanna mashup Google's streetview content, the thumbnail of a specific location. Of course I can do it by calling the javascript api as usual. (like this, http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/577685caec2fb396/ef09a60707a59bbb?lnk=gst&q=streetview+thumbnail#ef09a60707a59bbb )
However, not every client has flash player embedded in and the traffic for panoramic 360 degree views is not suitable for mobile devices. All I need is just the thumbnail, like the one I got from Google Earth. http://64.233.189.91/cbk?output=thumbnail&cb_client=earth&panoid=iFtpZ422GVEs0QbAvvMRSA I think the static API can do the job. Just like the static map API http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/staticmaps/ Is is possible to have 'static streetview api' for getting the thumbnail of a specific location?? Or what do you suggest me to do that in a legal way.
