Oh, and firebug says that the responses from those two 'gg.google.com' requests have a content-length of 0 bytes each. Is this normal? Also, when the problem happens, the map tiles don't ever load at all. And the problem is sometimes *but* *not* *always* accompanied by requests to "gg.google.com".
