Actually, it was none of those things.  It was the CSS, but not due to
an error.

What happened was that I initially set display:  none; on the map div
itself within the external CSS.  This was to keep a large blank area
showing at the bottom of an ad post.  When I removed that one line,
everything worked as intended.

This still doesn't explain why, when the code worked for over 3 months
without one change, it suddenly started working like that today...but
as long as it works, I guess that's all that matters.
