I think this is possible, but I am not good with javascript. what I would like to do is move the position of the search tool from the bottom left (default?) position and move it actually off the map to above the map.
I have gotten it to look like this: http://www.uky.edu/UKFCU/membershipSEARCH.html But the search function does not operate, but the layout is essentially right. I would like to be able to have the preceding paragraph read, "type your address here to see if you are eligible..." and have a functioning search tool immediately after the paragraph. I tried searching for this topic, and found this: http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_thread/thread/8287be6112c2035e/bd4d9b33fbafd62c?lnk=gst&q=position+of+Search#bd4d9b33fbafd62c which is the closest thing I could find for how to move the search. I think it requires the ajax api (http://www.google.com/uds/solutions/ mapsearch/index.html), but then I could not figure out how to add the KML file to that. Also I would prefer not to have the list of search results. Any help is greatly appreciated. I think this would be somewhat simple, but I don't know enough about javascript to know how to make this work. I am trying to learn, but I don't have the time I need to really get it done.
