We're working hard to make it easy for developers to use RTL languages with
the Google Maps JavaScript API. As part of the changes we're making, there
is unfortunately one possible side effect.

If you specify dir="rtl" on your map DIV but do not specify an RTL language
in your script tag (like Hebrew or Arabic), we will change the dir to "ltr"
in IE. This change prevents mis-rendering of the controls in IE.
