I just signed for a Google Maps API key and got the key. And I am simply copying the javascript code along with the key and using in the web page in the same domain as the one I signed up with.
However, I am getting an error. The Google Maps API has rejected your request. This could be because the API key used on this site was registered for a different web site. You can generate a new key for this web site at http://code.google.com/apis/maps However, that is what exactly I did. And I am still getting that error. Interestingly, after I click 'OK' on that error, the map gets displayed correctly along with the marker.
