Hi

I am a real novice, but I am having to develop a map that focusses
around a single point.

I have been trying to research and read up on the best way to do this
and I have managed to retro-engineer several scripts to make the
following website

www.hamberie.com/ddlhmap.htm, and the data comes from
www.hamberie.com/ddlhmaplayers.php

I basically want to show all the places of interest and ferry ports,
and disabled accessible venues around the central point - Domaine de
la Hamberie.

I can just about add all the info I want, and can populate the
different buttons (The Accessible and WW2 buttons have no info yet )

The two big things I would like to do are
1: Put a marker in a different style/colour on the map itself so it is
easy to see where the central point ( Domaine de la Hamberie) is. Can
I either have a marker attached to the htm page of the map, that
doesn't alter with the different buttons, or can I have different
coloured/style markers within each 'group'.

2: This then leads to my next question. How can I make the different
groups of markers different colours so that for example the ferry
ports are all blue (or even the ship icon found in google maps), and
the accessible venues use a wheelchair icon?
Is any of this possible using the approach I have taken?

Please do not overestimate my knowledge of scripting. I just about
understand that by selecting a button, a group from the data file are
slected, but this is at the edge of my understanding.

Any help, or even nudges in the right direction will really help.
