Or, equivalently, load the API from http://maps.google.de instead of 
http://maps.google.com


For a stronger bias, add " Germany" to the end of your address. It is 
now safe to add the country twice, so if your user happens to enter 
"Hanover Germany" or "Hanover DE", you don't need to worry about 
duplicating the country.
