Looking in all the wrong places, thanks for the pointer.
Since you already tested with Chrome, and I don't have it anyway, I
didn't repeat your effort.
This computer
Firefox 3.0.3 - works great
IE 8.0.6001 - works incorrectly as described above.
Other Computer
Firefox 3.0.8 - works great
IE 7.0.5730 - works great
Mac
Safari 3.2.1 - works great
Now I know where the problem is, and even less about how to resolve
it.
