You currently have to do all the hard work yourself. There's no option 
in the API.

One little thing that will get you started is that if you set the first 
parameter of GLargeMapControl3D to true then it will leave a gap of a 
suitable size, into which you can place your pegman dragobject.

map.addControl(new GLargeMapControl3D(true));
