Maps API Premier client ids are enabled for https access on an individual basis. Clients are automatically enabled for https if we any of the URLs you provide on which you wish to use your client id is an https URL. So firstly make sure you have let us know if you need https access by logging a support ticket.
If you have already done this then you need to provide details of exactly how your application is failing in IE6 for us to help you debug it. Thor.
