im not very familiar with remote sensing providers in america, but try http://www.usgs.gov/ http://www.usgs.gov/pubprod/ http://www.usgs.gov/pubprod/aerial.html#remote or http://nris.mt.gov/nsdi/doq.asp at first. maybe you have to contact some people there and describe them your project.
usually aerial material is expensive. depending on quality, resolution and area. and, especially, the purpose of use (commercial / non profit). for that tech stuff, check the maps api documentation for overlays and google for the integration of other geo web services.
