You don't.
At the php/mySQL end, you limit the data available to only authorised
people.

Bear in mind your MAP has to be publicly available, assuming you are
using the API for free.
But it has been argued that doesn't mean all your data (markers) has
to be publicly available, so long as your map still has some public
usefullness.

I've no idea what your 'projects' are, but you could for example build
a public map that showed all the markers, but without much detail in
the infowindow.  If the viewer was authorised, they could get more
detail and an edit button in their infowindow.  How much data is given
to the infowindow would be up to your php/MySQL code.
