I feel this must be somewhere, but I can't seem to find it (by Googling it of course).
I work for a state university library and I am incorporating Google maps into our digital collections. http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/ufdc/?c=fdnl1&m=hrbm&t=hurricane As the above link shows, we use google maps for display in certain collections. The next step is obvious, let users select either a point or a rectangle (safer from data standpoint... no need to buffer the point, etc..) and retrieve items published in that rectangle or about that rectangle. So, I have a system in place to search my SQL database by latitudes and longitudes, but how can I let a user draw a rectangle on a Google map. Someone must have released a nice little widget which allows point and rectangle selection. Just need to raise an event when the user is done dragging the rectangle and my software will take care of the rest. Any suggestions? - Mark --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
