Update again--I think it is my installation. The page prints (approximately--see http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/browse_frm/thread/dde4365124a36ee1/91b44f2593fb30a5?hl=en#91b44f2593fb30a5) correctly on a different installation of IE7. Maybe it's a difference between XP and Vista? Or maybe my install is just screwed up. I hardly ever use IE (just to test display of my page) so who knows if it is working poorly on other pages too.
