Looking at pitfall no.2 in Mike's notes, are you sure you have a zoom
level 17 defined, for the API to calculate polylines?
I'm not entirely sure how your custom projection works, it certainly
attempts to build 18 levels but so far as I can see only 0 to 3 are
properly defined?
