I'm currently overlaying a number of KML/KMZ files using the GGeoXml
class. It's working great, but due to the fact that you can't specify
an opacity, I can't see the underlying map. Ideally, I'd like the KML/
KMZ overlays to be about 50% opaque.

I've found http://www.maptiler.org/google-maps-overlay-opacity-control/
and I've been trying to use it to enable opacity on KML/KMZ overlays,
but I can't figure it out. It seems to just work for images (in the
example, they overlay a PNG image). When I use GGeoXml to overlay a
KML/KMZ, the request gets routed through Google's server (using
mapsatt). However, when using this custom control, the overlay tries
to load directly from my server.

Is there a way I can modify the overlay control to work properly? Is
there another way to make these overlays opaque? Thanks for any and
all help!
