Last night, we set 2.156 as v2 and released 2.158 as v2.x. Note that 2.156 does contain one regression bug: If you call addOverlay() on a poly and then immediate call hide(), the poly will not be hidden. If your code does this, then please load an earlier version of the API, and star issue 1264 to be notified when a fix is released: http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=1264
