You can have as many markers as you like.  You can only have the
singular infowindow open on one marker at a time.  That might be
sensible if you are creating new markers on e.g. a user click.  But if
you are creating a bunch of markers from some list say, and opening
the infowindow on each one as you create it, what you will actually
see is one infowindow open on the last marker.
As you haven't given much context (like a link to your map) we don't
know if that is or isn't a problem for you.

If you don't like that one-at-a-time behaviour, there are alternatives
to GInfoWindows that you can look into.
