That would seem to be the answer. The embedded map does have a resize event handler [resizeApp()] so that should work. If it doesn't, then that is an issue for Google Maps (rather than an API issue). The API can handle multiple simple maps like this (create a map, set centre and zoom and there you are; add a marker if you want) and can deal with hiding/showing.
