This Example does use Postgres (with PostGIS) http://www.mapsinternational.co.uk/gmap/postoffices/test_buffer.php
finds the nearest post offices. (but can be any information, like sports venues) (enter 'ox4' & 'ox2') then press 'go' wait for google directions to generate the route then press 'get points' then the magic happens... If you want another example - I high recommend Marcelo's Excellent Example POIs along a route (with server side clustering) http://gis5.com/pois_along_route/gm_pois_along_route.php Mapperz http://mapperz.blogspot.com/ On Jun 4, 12:51 am, shadrack <[email protected]> wrote: > It seems that you would need to utilize a GIS-capable database, like > Postgresql's PostGIS, along with some scripts that allow both the user > to interact with the database and plot results in google maps.
