And if you have loads, the Ordnance Survey allows free use of
[Windows] software to do bulk conversion, Grid InQuest. See

You can get it by clicking on the word "registering" in the third
paragraph on the page. The link isn't obvious, and ends up at
http://www.qgsl.com/login/register_user.php

Yes, I use it. It's a bit clunky but is the best method I've found so
far for converting files containing hundreds of grid references.
