I need luck :)

I've been given the OK to upload a work in progress as it's close enough and
doesn't really break functionality.

Go here: http://www.referenceline.com and search for a UK postcode without
changing anything else - so try, e.g. DL3 7JA. On the results, switch to map
view. You will notice markers around the map. The ones on the right hand
edge show the window to the left - and the window positions are recalculated
on zoom (I guess zoom calls redraw on all the GOverlay objects?)

I need to do the same thing on map move but when I tried to force call
redraw on my custom overlay I got Javascript errors so I guess I was doing
it wrong.

If you want to see EXACTLY the sort of thing he's aiming for,
http://www.globrix.com does it correctly - search for a place, switch to the
map, and you'll see it in action.

This time last week I was just putting single markers on given postcodes for
small clients - all of a sudden I'm doing this! I'm not so much being thrown
in at the deep end as thrown off the boat in the middle of the ocean....

Any help appreciated :)

Regards,
Michael Price

I would have thought you just needed GMap2 movend and zoomend
listeners to recalculate your window positions (if, of course, a
window is open). You'd need to take care you are using the real
current values, and not an old value trapped in function closure or
somesuch.

I have a feeling this will be a horrible thing to look at, with
windows jigging up and down and side to side as you pan around.
Customer knows best?

good luck, Ross K
