True, but you should be careful if you do not control the subdomains.
If a user does something to which Google take great exception, they
could pull the key. That would take out the maps on *all* your
subdomains.

If you do not control how your users comply with the Terms, even
though you are taking responsibility by giving them your key, you run
a real risk.
