Ross,

Thank you for pointing that out.  I was going to reply after adding a 
new id of "ricopyright" to my css and using that instead of "copyright" 
that that didn't seem to be the issue (since it didn't appear to fix it, 
and the copyright div is far away from the map and place on the page 
with problems), but then I went and changed the css to delete the 
original "copyright" id altogether (keeping only ricopyright) and 
cleared the browser cache, and now the text selection and links appear 
to be working as they should, so it looks like you were right.  I did 
star it also, so thanks for noting that as well.

Another thing I discovered when posting from 
http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Maps-API/post (which I hadn't done 
before -- used to post from my email client, and just rejoined this 
list) is that very cool feature where suggested posts with related 
information pop up on the right.  What a great feature.
