Hi I need a user to be able to either define a point or draw a rectangle on a map. I looked at adapting the dragzoom code but that will only allow a rectangle of a fixed ratio
http://www.marlin.ac.uk/demonstrations/vagueLocations.php The flow would be: User selects Point or Area from Radio box User clicks on map Single click gives a point and records lat/long in text boxes (same for NW and SE) Click and drag allows drawing of a polygon (rectangle) and the respective NW and SE coordinates are recorded.
