Well I'm seeing this in FF3, which is one of the most compliant
browsers, and one of the most popular, so it's a little presumptuous
to call it a 'browser' quirk when

1)      Other mapping tools such as Open Layers don't do this

2)      By their own admission, it's their own code that's doing it!

I shall take a look at the bug report and perhaps make similar
comments there.
