Thanks for all your replies! Without going into too much detail myself the evony map (evonymap.com) is fictional and I have no control over the quality of it. The zoomed out map is purely a graphic (i.e. not a game map), while the real game map is a square grid (toroidal connectivity). I do some custom coordinate mapping that varies depending on the zoom level and have different formulas for the number of tiles based on zoom level. I think I need to keep my projection.
Since it is a fictional map, I can tolerate an inaccurate but functional version of the gscalecontrol. Except I can't even get that far. I don't seem to give GScaleControl the properties it measures, and I was hoping to gain more insight into the problem. Alternatively, is it possible to override the GMercatorProjection methods (like tilecheckrange)? Would that help GScaleControl? Thanks again. - Novi --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
