Hi! I've been looking for a tool that allows me to translate a Dutch postalcode (zip) into coordinates. The Google Geocoding HTTP request seems to fit the bill perfectly and it would be a great solution to by problem. The reason I want to translate it is that I need a way to calculate between two points (User inputs the postal code, gets translated into coordinates and distance gets calculated by the use of a formula) and then filter search results within a X radius.
My question therefore is, am I allowed to do this? The Google Maps API T&S states: "10.12 use or display the Content without a corresponding Google map, unless you are explicitly permitted to do so in the Maps APIs Documentation, the Street View API Documentation, or through written permission from Google" I would guess that it would therefore not be legal to use the API as described? (As a way to translate postal codes into coordinates that can then be used to calculate distances between points. Without any use of an embedded Google map or something to that effect) Is it, or is it nog legal and should I just email Google to ask for their permission? Thank you in advance, Dean Vaessen The Netherlands. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
