9.1 and 10.4 have this wording: "9.1 ...Your Maps API Implementation may not charge an incremental fee solely for the Service."
"(may not) 10.4 charge users or any other third party any incremental fee solely for the use of the Maps API Implementation..." This isn't very clear. Does "solely" mean that all the application does is bring up a web page in the browser? What if the application does a lot more, like figure out the coordinates of the user and then ask for the page that could be accessible for free? Here's an example. I have this page (v3) http://www.usnaviguide.com/v3maps/WhatZipCode.htm The page can take two parameters, lat and lng to center it in on a location. This page is in the open and can be accessed by any browser for free. If I write an paid access application for a mobile device that calculates those parameters, creates the associated URL with them and then calls up the page, is this a violation or is this ok? I can read it that it's ok because the mobile application isn't solely displaying the web page, it's also doing a lot more, the web page is the result. I can also read it that the applications sole purpose is to display the web page but also does something to pre-process the URL. -John Coryat http://maps.huge.info http://www.usnaviguide.com http://www.zipmap.net --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
