Now I'm at a 'more powerful' machine, it takes just over a minute to load the startup map in IE6, panning is dreadfully slow to redraw the polys. Some of the polys are odd shapes - acute triangles, 'bow-ties', etc. The street map backdrop tiles are absent ... only your polys on a grey background. The map type selector buttons are very slow to operate, 'Satellite' doesn't change the grey backdrop but 'hybrid' produces street tiles (only). Apart from that, clicking in the infowindow seems to work as expected, the page changes to different layout etc. FF2 takes about 45 seconds to finish the map, and map background tiles work properly. Panning is still quite slow. Clicking in the infowindow seems to work as expected, changing the page layout. Is there anything special we have to do to break this?? The tile issues in IE6 are almost certainly because you're including pngfix. Search this group for workarounds to stop it messing the map up (which does its own thing with pngs). I see you do have a general map-click listener, which does some jquery things to images that I don't understand, having been passed whichever overlay was clicked (if any) as 'vart'. It's probably worth reviewing that listener to see what happens when it is a passed an infowindow as 'vart', as I said before infowindows are overlays too, just like your polys. cheers, Ross K --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
