There just seemed to be another outage on the (geocoding) Maps API. My app (and my offsite monitoring from several locations) pretty consistently got HTTP error 502 (Gateway timeout) from Google for this time period. Occasionally, a request would return successfully (or with a API error code 500), but usually in the 6-15 second range (I time my requests out before this).
