I don't know what "Google Weather Maps" is, but you can use a ground
overlay and show the national US radar available from NOAA on top of a
regular google map.

var groundOverlay = new GGroundOverlay(
   "http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/RadarImg/latest_radaronly.gif";,
   new GLatLngBounds(pointSW, pointNE));

map.addOverlay(groundOverlay);

You can get various radar projections (with varying detail) at
http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/RadarImg/

Also in that directory, you will see gfw files that can be use to
calculate the SW and NE coordinates (US states and territories only)
