I have an application that show polygons of market boundaries. For one country, the polygons contain 1,000 to 300,000 points. I am using GPolyline.fromEncoded and then addOverlay. but it is very slow on intial drawing and every zooming,
I did some research and it seems to me that there is no way to improve the speed with my current approach, I am trying to find another solution. One thing I noticed is the Map tile. But I am unclear how to do this. 1. How can create the map tiles (my understanding is the transparent png) from the Points of my polygon? Any tools? 2. There are many zoom levels. Do I need to create all the tiles at every levels? How many tiles I have to create? I like to have the same as the google map has. 3. How the application know where and which tile should be used. 4. I come to this point just try to improve the drawing of the Polygons. Will Map tile work for me? Any other way I can go? Thanks. jzerohn --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
