Have a look at the javascript error reported in your browser on page
load, that'll give a starter -
onGDirectionsLoad is not defined
It's this line that fails
GEvent.addListener(gdir, "load", onGDirectionsLoad);
because you haven't written any function called onGDirectionsLoad
