Hello together, i hope that i'm not too far away from the topic of this group. I need help testing out and optimizing a new joomla 1.5 component that uses php/ajax/mysql for displaying a map with many different categories with its own icons, which can be added and managed via backend. I use ajax requests (no xml, just php) to get and write the georcordinates into the database while running.
My english is not the best, at least in explaining what the component does (; So please have a look at the frontend at: http://www.lunajoom.de/demos/hotspots-demo/ I want to hear your opinion, primary on how the google maps api is included and used and how to optimize it for many markers etc. I would be very happy if you have some ideas for the component. The component is GPL so feel free to download it and look at the source code.
